WE MAKE
SEXUAL HEALTH INFORMATION ACCESSIBLE TO COLLEGE FRESHMAN

why this is worth addressing.

project
scope
On college campuses and in the university setting, not all incoming freshman are prepared for their new environment and the responsibilities that come with it. When it comes to sex, it's hard to know if you're prepared to make the best decisions for your health and well-being.

By creating an easy reference of information for making healthy and safe choices about sex, any teen with a smartphone can pull it up and take 30 seconds to get the answers when the need them most.

definition
How do we learn about sex?

Sex education is only mandated in 24 states and Washington D.C. There is no federal standard for the quality and content of that education (Guttmacher Institute, 2016). The standard varies from school to school.

The proliferation of abstinence-only or factually incorrect sex education is still an issue in the US, even though most Americans (across all political ideologies) support a more balanced approach (Bleakley, 2006).
